Rehearsal Dinner/Nasher Sculpture Center

Courtney & Evan had the most lovely rehearsal dinner at the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas.

After a quick run through at Christ the King, family and friends met for dinner at the Nasher.

The tables were incredibly decorated with beautiful floral arrangements in glass vases with tiny white bird sculptures. Guests entered the museum to a table with their placecards beautifully calligraphed around a white dove under a glass ventrine.

Guests were served cocktails and appetizers in the sculpture garden where every detail was artistically inspired.- the glowing bar against the blue lit fountains with Jonathan Borofsky's "The Hammering Man" and Henry Moore under the Dallas Skyline.

But the most inspirational was the James Turrell sculpture - a low lit room where guests sit and look at the opening through the ceiling, dawn and sunset are the best times for viewing since the colors change so dramatically.

The food and service were also incredible with a 4 course meal with a staff that served and choreographed to a T.
The evening ended with humorous toasts by friends and family and a slideshow of the two of them growing up!

Jessie & Jeff/The Vista at Seward Hill

Jessie and Jeff's wedding had a creative and unique wedding at the Vista at Seward Hill.

The Bride choose pastel colors to coordinate all her bridesmaids and groomsmen , including beautiful cameo necklaces for each.
Each bridesmaids also had a classic forties rolled hairstyles.
The Groom's brother was his best man but had a close "girl" friend as one of his groomsmen.

The flowers were simply arranged with succulents. Their ceremony with included a shy flower girl that walked out with her dad, a salt convenant and a special time alone after the ceremony for just the two of them.
After dinner a friend's band played the first dances- and his brother gave a very memorable and funny speech.
Then more dancing (including hava nagila) and onto their exit in the moonlight.

Band: Nano and the Afternoon
Florist: Essa Hoop at Flora and Fauna

Congratulations Jessie and Jeff!

Vintage Bride

Jessica makes the perfect vintage bride, she has such a classic 50's look!
Her wedding dress was new but still had that vintage feel. I loved all of her accessories- a floral headband along with a handmade veil. She also wore cowboy boots and a crocheted lace garter.
Their wedding was just as stylish! More pics to come soon......

New Yorkers in Texas

These creative New Yorkers planned their wedding in Austin in a very personal way. For their reception at the Austin Country Club they used the names of all the special streets signs from NYC (where they had lived and met, etc..) ..for the table displays- they also used cute little frames with the street names as place markers to show their guest where to sit! The drinks- margaritas & martini's!

My favorite was Essex street on the Lower East Side. We lived on Rivington Street for 10 years(both our girls were born there!)
They also had milk and cookies for their guests to take for their drive home!

Richard & Julie were married at St. Austin on the drag- Julie and her siblings all went to UT. The grooms friends and family all came down from New Jersey- we fell in love with his sister and her adorable twins- Maggie and June Carter.

But the funniest part was when the bride threw her bouquet- Jeff and I usually get in two different positions so we can capture all the action- I was photographing the bridesmaid' s reactions when the bride threw her beautiful but heavy black calla lilies , the wet bouquet splashed down between my legs - a new occupational hazard.

Congratulations Richard & Julie!

Abby turns one!

I photographed her as a newborn and as a bump in her Mom's belly so I was delighted to photograph Abby again...as she just turned one.
Abby is a signer- meaning she knows sign language and she's oh so busy and on the go- so I had to keep up with her.
I can't wait to see her again and she how much she's grown!
I miss those baby days!

Mustache wedding!

This couple had the most awesome wedding at Kali Kate in Buda. You've seen all the fake mustache weddings where everyone wears a fake mustache -well this groom grew the real thing- which he waxed and combed perfectly.!

Kristin has the best vintage kitchen for shooting still lifes. She's also a great gardener , so of course she did all her own flowers- from the table arrangements to her beautifully simple bouquet of peony tulips.

She had all of her bridesmaids wear vintage inspired red polka dotted 40's dresses and she had a flower fairy instead of a flower girl!

But the best part was the music, DJ Michael Joplin was spinning real vinyl and he played a recording of her Father singing opera as a surprise for their Father -Daughter dance.
The last song was a cool old Pink Floyd song "Fearless".
(that J's is inspired to learn to on guitar!)

Congratulations Kristin and Jared!
