Picture New York without pictures?

Saturday, July 28, 2007

I couldn't imagine New York without all the great street photography and films made by young aspiring artists, but the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theater and Broadcasting, is proposing a new rule that would require any group of 2 or more using a camera in a public place for more than 30 minutes to get a city permit and $1 million in liability insurance, this would also include using a tripod in a public location for more than 10 minutes!

Think of all the great art we'd miss if this passes.

Monsoon Season?

Monday, July 23, 2007

This adorable couple was very patient with the rain at their recent wedding at the Winfield Inn in Kyle.
(As you might know, it's been raining like monsoon season in Central Texas right now).
The Inn made a comfortable and charming location to get ready indoors.
By the time everyone was ready the rain had slowed to a trickle and they were able to walk to the covered outdoor pavilion for a sunny ceremony, dinner and dancing.
I met filmmaker Esther from Rings and Cake who shot black and white Super 8 film to mix in with the color digital video coverage of the event.
I love black and white toy camera photography and vintage cameras so I can't wait to see the finished product!
(watch Kim and Randy getting ready on their site!)
Our best friend shot 16mm black & white film with his Bolex at our wedding so I know how special it will look.
Congratulations Jenn and Charles!

Zen Wedding

This beautiful couple had a very Zen wedding at House on the Hill in Austin.
Though it's rained all summer, we've been lucky enough to have each of the weddings turn out to be a beautiful day just in time for the ceremony.
Bethany at 36th Street Events and her staff were great to work with (especially when they found a garter snake under one of the tables and helped him off the deck!), the DJ was funky and the caterer was incredible!
Thank you Round Robin Press for the recommendation.
Congratulations Beth and James! Click here for the slideshow

Jumping on the bed

Wednesday, July 18, 2007

I know this blog is supposed to be about my photography business but I couldn't be happier that my personal photos made it into bedjump.com this week!

Sometimes it's the simplest things that make you smile and this site is GREAT for that!

Okay, as I was making a book of all our vacation pics, I thought I'd share this one page in color......

Shadow Vacation

Tuesday, July 3, 2007

I've been meaning to share our vacation photos then realized we shot over a thousand. So instead of boring our friends I decided to edit it down with the theme of shadows.

Beautiful, beautiful boy!

I'm so glad I got to photograph this beautiful newborn baby boy! Children grow up so fast! My Mom said she missed the little personalities we were at every stage of growing up! I've tried to photograph my own kids along the way just to remember how fast they change.
