These two aren't engaged- but I imagine they will be.
Bryan is the son of my husband's co-worker....we've know Cathy as long as we've been in Austin and remember always hearing about Brian as a little boy- that was 10 years ago! Now he's 20 and off to college. We did their portraits in downtown Buda. If you haven't been to Buda Drugstore- drop in for a root beer float- it's just like an old fashioned soda fountain! The pharmacy is great too- they have both traditional as well as homeopathic and herbal remedies! We also have a donut shop!

This charming couple had some many personal details to their DIY wedding at their parents home in Euless Texas.
Kyla & Josh met and fell in love in Colorado while going to school- they started a bike company called Cognation together to share their love of bikes and creativity.
All of the details at their wedding were handmade...from their collaboration with her cousin on the design for their invitation and tattoos from their love of Shel Silverstein's "The Giving Tree". (Kyla's is an "invention" light bulb and Josh's tree symbolizes his close relationship to his Mom).
The tree theme reflects throughout their wedding - from the hand painted signs by her parents to the button gifts-to the cut tree circle cake stands.
The fly fishing lures were were added to the guy's boutonnieres in honor of Josh's late Grandfather 's love and life devoted to fly fishing. A necklace the grooms Mother gave the bride before the ceremony was a charm from his Grandmother in Italy who could not attend- it was Josh's as a baby the writing in Italian translates to "This is so that you always know, that I love you more than yesterday, less than tomorrow."
They had a "sign in" guitar- a vintage bike for their wedding cards and a saw to cut the cake with plus the groom ordered a surprise bike cake topper for the grooms cake!!
There was funky dancing in the barn-hot chocolate and cider, a Soul Train dancing line, a dance off between Father and son!
It was definitely the coldest winter wedding we've photographed-a nice change from all our HOT Texas wedding - I love that all the bridesmaids switched from there heels to UGGs for dancing!
The impromptu throwing of the leaves for their exit fit in perfectly with their TREE theme but I'm sure was a little itchy ( sorry for that suggestion)!
Cheers to Kyla & Josh - and our first wedding of the year!!!
