Punk Wedding!

We loved everything about shooting this cute young punk couple's wedding at the Red Corral Ranch outside Wimberley.
First they had great style, each of the bridesmaids dyed their hair with pink streaks, all of the guys wore Guaraberras and they were married by a Church of the Subgenius Ordained Minister-plus they had beautiful flowers with vegetables everywhere!
Second they had great food - a Crawfish Bowl with Gumbo and cornbread and salad by Pink Avocado and an amazing cake made especially for the bride by a pastry chef friend.
And third they had incredible music- a dance party with karaoke to everything from the Misfits,Beastie Boys, to Neil Diamond, Kermit the Frog and the Chicken Dance.

Their exit was just as unique- Star Wars light sabers to a horse drawn carriage.
Added bonus- incredibly loving friends and supportive family!

Congratulations Hilary & Clint! (can we come to your next party?)

Wedding Driftwood

Jane and Kyle were married on a hot but beautiful spring afternoon at the Driftwood Vineyards.
After decorating, they had a private wine tasting and said their vows. then a picnic lunch, family and friends from Canada and on to a reception at a friends home.

I loved little flower girl who was picking up the petals instead of throwing them. And the incredible cake by Sweet Tempered!

Congratulations Jane & Kyle- have fun in Costa Rica!

Wedding New Braunfels

Annie & Douglas were married at a beautiful old Catholic Church in downtown New Braunfels. It was such a sunny day they all walked to the reception at Seekatz a couple of blocks away.
Imagine seeing a beautiful bride with her wedding party walking down the street!
They got a lot of honks to say the least.

I love all the personal details that go into a wedding- her baby bonnet made into a hankerchief and their family requesting an "Outlaw shot"- literally a shot that everyone drinks to be initiated into the family!

Congratulations Annie & Doug!

Happy 71st Birthday Mom!

With her piano and sister Marie

In swimming in Lake Ponchatrain with her Father and Aunt Augusta

With long hair and her brothers and sister in Gardenia California

With her beloved trumpet!

and bike

Today is Geraldine Joyce Shipley O'Brien's 71st birthday! She was named after her father Gerald who I have to thank for my love of photography.
(we have tons of old 4x5 negatives from his old Graflex camera).
She was almost born in Bluefields Nicaragua while he worked for United Fruit Company but they came back to New Orleans so she would be born in the States.
Here are some of my favorite pics of her.
Happy Birthday Mom! xoxo-Katie

Friesenhaus-Rehearsal Dinner

Annie & Douglas were married at a church in downtown New Braunfels and had their reception at Seekatz Opera House, so it was only fitting for them to have their rehearsal dinner at the restaurant Friesenhaus around the block. It's a German restaurant and bakery owned by a family who emigrated from Munich. They have all things German...German food, German Beer-14 kinds on draft - where each brand has their own glass) German sweets, a store with German clothing and souvenirs and even polka music on weekends!
Check it out sometime this summer after swimming at Landa Park!

Annie's Bridals

Since this bride lives in New Braunfels, we shot her Bridals in Buda.
Her Mom, Sister and Cousin came along to offer support and some comic relief!
Her gorgeous Mantilla Lace veil was from her Mother's wedding, a gift from her Mother from Spain.
Classic and very vintage!

Sarah & Justin / Star Hill Ranch

This gorgeous Dallas couple had an awesome spring wedding at the Star Hill Ranch.
What an incredible location! The owners have rescued & renovated all these old buildings and moved them to this site , it's like a small town movie set!
They had an incredibly loving family ( his brother performed their ceremony and her Mother made all the bridesmaids dresses!!)
They also had yummy catering & coordination by Shannon with Crave Catering, and beautiful flowers by Central Market.
Plus Videography by another Ex New Yorker Nil Buan.
Cheers! Sarah & Justin!
