Happy SXSW and Springbreak Austin!

Sunday, March 13, 2011

It's SXSW & Spring Break  this week and we are off on an adventure-so I am dedicating  this post to all the awesome bands we've worked with at weddings! Since Austin is the Live Music Capital there are loads of awesome bands to choose from! They don't have to be traditional- anything goes  and the funkier the better for dancing!
Some of these  bands don't usually  "do" weddings- but through friendships or serious fans these bands agreed to do it!
Whatever you do during spring break- get your kids out and see live music- there's lots of free shows- Jeff took our girls to see Ghostland Observatory one year!
Check  the links below and see if you can catch one of their acts during SXSW!

We've been lucky enough to  work twice with T Bird and the Breaks  are the funkiest- think Old Parliament Funkadelic and James Brown!

play Gypsy- they'll be at East Side Showroom on March 19th at 10 pm

traditional Northeastern Brasilian

mixing early jazz, vaudeville and hillbilly!

Original Recipe Band
play authentic Sinatra, funk,   big band, mambos, and Motown.

Miss Leslie and her Juke Jointers
blue grass, western swing with a steel guitar

classic blues on electric guitar

classic Sinatra Jazz with a little Harry Connick Jr.

Hot western swing and jazz- great for dancing!

Salsa Music from Houston
Los Escondidos- cool latin sound

a little Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros a little her own!

hillbilly western

honest country-like Willie, Waylon and the boys

Seeing your SX pictures is almost at good as getting a babysitter and going ourselves! Thanks!
