Before it gets too cold and feels like winter I wanted to share this sweet summer wedding!
Jenna & Matt thought about eloping in Italy but at the last minute changed their minds and decided on a sentimental ,laid-back, picnic style wedding at her Great Uncle & Aunt's backyard in Georgetown.
(they still honeymooned there) The home was built in 1879 and it's been in the Johnson family since 1901. Her Uncle J.C. bought the house from his parents and sibling in 1986 when he retired.
It's entered into the National Register of Places in Texas.
Jenna chose her frog theme from her family. She said " My great grandmother, Mama Dee, created the bean bag frogs. She passed about 5-6 years ago and I wanted her presence at the wedding. She used to make them for family or I would give them as birthday presents to my close friends. They are extremely sentimental to my family." They had extras made and gave them out as presents. Her Godmother made her bouquet from antique family broches. The Aloe Vera centerpieces were was also in honor of Mama Dee.
After the ceremony- family and friends dinned on Fried Chicken, Black Eyed Pea Salad, Watermelon and Popsicles. Jenna's best friends parents were the band and instead of cake they had pies ...the kids had a waterslide and Jenna & Matt rode off on a tandem bike she rode as a kid.
