the Bride choose Mason Jars as refilleable glasses!
James Joyce! |
This DIY couple from Minnesota choose Texas as their destination wedding !
Since their wedding boots was their most important wedding accessory they purchased them at Allen’s Boots when they came into town to scout wedding venues.
Jackie and Mike spent a Sunday afternoon prior to the wedding getting a DIY hair tutorial and a tattoo! Mike had been wanting to get a James Joyce quote tattooed across his shoulders for a while so they used the wedding as a catalyst. Afterward Jackie was finished she went and sat with him- full wedding H&M while Mike grimaced in pain.
The bride had a great idea for a custom dress and had a local designer in Minneapolis create it - for the ceremony a full length dress then afterwards a short dress underneath it-perfect for an evening of dancing. The groom also choose a custom made suit from Heime's Haberdashery with their initials and the wedding date embroidered inside on the pocket.
Another idea was found on Pinterest for carrying the rings- Jackie tied her Grandmother's vintage ring onto the Bible her Dad's used while growing !
Mike's best friend officiated and another friend designed all their printed matter & invitations as well as help with the all the florals. AND his sister gave a beautiful performance on violin during the ceremony!
Since they both love to dance- Mike asked his college dance instructor from Trinity University to teach everyone the basic Texas Two Step to share their love of dancing with friends and family—Texas style!
Instead of using florals for their table decorations they collected recycled bottles and jars and invited guests to light a candle and make a wish for us. Jackie said
" It was wonderful to see people lighting candles and then look out later in the evening and see the twinkle of 100 well wishes".
