Grace & Paul's Pink & Gold Black Tie Event @ The Wild Onion

Friday, January 17, 2014

Grace is an event planner with  Kennedy Creative Events-so she knew all the best vendors to pick! She wanted a black tie event but found it hard finding something formal in Austin ( unless you get married in a hotel)  so when they were introduced to the Wild Onion Ranch by her colleague Cristin she knew it would be the perfect place for the glamour they wanted to incorporate in their Elegant Pink & Gold Black Tie Event!
Being an event planner and coordinating hundreds of events- Grace knew she wanted to add something personal so since her Mom is a local artist and her now husband Paul is a great builder- she had him make an 8 x 8 wooden wall for her mom to design and paint a Heart backdrop to use for a photo booth ( and their engagements!)  Paul also made the LOVE light that served as a great background for the dance floor!

Grace is obsessed with gold so she used in in her table clothes, and had her florist add it to her bouquets and centerpieces by spray painting some of the flowers- she found a beautiful gold pair of Kate Spade shows and crystal earrings and necklace to match .

After the ceremony Grace & Paul surprised their guests with  six horn players accompany the DJ to the song "you are the best thing" by Ray Lamontague. For their reception  Paul and Grace love margaritas so they made their special cocktail with fresh lime, a spicy rim, and a blood orange juice. They also chose to do food stations so that people would move around the event and not feel stuck to a seat or table- they had everything from sliders and fries to lobster ravioli.
Groove Labs provided DJ Johnny who was accompanied by a drummer and bass player a perfect combo between DJ and band to keep the crowd dancing until the exit!
