Mother & Son Dance |
Ashley & Stephen celebrated a beautiful mixed faith ceremony incorporating both families customs for their ceremony. The Huppah they used was actually made out of Stephen's Bar Mitzvah Prayer Shawl. They started by lighting a Unity candle after their first look and then signed the Ketubah before the ceremony started.
Ashley did most of her wedding planning herself but had her amazing Mother in Law Barbara to thank for all the DIY handmade details- together they made the all table overlays, the ring bearer pillow, the flower girls basket and dress, the wooden signs, chair sashes, wine bottle table numbers, wine cork escort cards and programs
Since the Dave Matthews song "You & Me" means so much to them as a couple, Ashley used the lyrics to tie into their written wedding vows and a custom engraving inside their wedding bands.
Ashley also used the cake cutting ceremony to celebrate both of their Grandparents 30th & 50th Wedding Anniversarys with a special cake and original wedding portraits.
There's always a cute kid who steals the show and the ring bearer was an incredibly funky dancer- I imagine there's hundred's of videos of him dancing at this wedding on youtube!
(but luckily Ashley stole the show back when she learned Beyonce's Dance to "Put a Ring on it" for the Bouquet Toss)!
Most of their guests were from out of town so they planned a full weekend for everyone, starting with dinner on 6th Street before attending the Esther's Follies on Thursday, a rehearsal dinner at the County Line Friday night , the Wedding on Saturday ending with Sunday brunch with the Newlyweds.
Cheers to Ashley & Stephen and their new adventures together in New Orleans!
