Tim and Nicole's Ampersand Wedding!

Tim and Nicole love Austin- it's where they met and decided to get married so  they decided to make the wedding reflect the city where they fell in love. “Beautifully Undone”  or funky, fun and relaxed was their approach to personal style- they wanted their guests to fell at home too.

But the bride will be the first to admit that during all aspects of wedding planning, she had a secret weapon, “My husband is an art director and incredibly talented. He thought of more ideas for the wedding than I did, and he could actually build and design all of it. I felt like the luckiest girl in the world – we had so much fun planning all the details.”
Nicole's said she began collecting old books, silver glassware, cacti & succulents to use as their centerpieces months before hand. Each table also included an & on a silver restaurant stand.

Rather than settling on a designated color for the wedding design, they decided to go with a motif of the ampersand “&” which was reflected in everything from the block printed save-the-dates, to the screen printed handkerchief invitations to the light up 6-foot tall ampersand Tim built and everything in between. He also folded vintage National Geographic maps  into beautiful dancing stars over their ceremony site. ( I appreciated his sketched storyboards for their shot list!)

The bride said “It was important to us that the guests felt the love Tim and I had for each other, but also the love that we had for them. We added a lot of touches to help that – every invitation that went out were handmade, we created each centerpiece by hand, the fake place cards with nods to our favorite pop culture pairings (biscuits & gravy, ren & stimpy) and were meant to create conversation and interest. Tim painted all the signs around the grounds.

For the ceremony, the bride and groom had their 2 ½ year-old nephew Mack was push the rings down the aisle in a truck Tim made for him, and as he wondered back and forth making his way down to Tim, it was the perfect moment of humor before the vows.  “The biggest highlight from the ceremony was my 12-year-old niece Helena who sang Johnny Cash’s ‘Cause I love You.” There was not a dry eye in the house.”

Their  first dance song was " Home is wherever I'm with you-"   by Edward Sharpe and the Electric Zeros - which Nicole had engraved engraved inside of his ring.

Said Nicole, “We are very lucky. We both had our parents there, our siblings all played roles in the wedding, and we have the most fun friends and families I the world. I could not have imagined a more fun or perfect day to marry the man of my dreams.”

But, even with all those details, the biggest hit was the photobooth Katherine brought! It added a level of fun and silliness that was just perfect.” See their photobooth here!

The couple had hoped to exit in a friend's recently renovated turquoise truck but unfortunately it wasn't ready in time so they used this funky longhorn Cadillac to start off their honeymoon adventure to Marfa.
