Sarah & Charlie-Urban Farm Wedding
Tuesday, June 1, 2010
Imagine- long rows of elegantly assembled tables in a greenhouse on an urban farm in East Austin. A crocheted chuppah hanging from a teepee- an sculptural art piece in itself. Then imagine friends and families exploring the farm and relaxing with cocktails before and after the ceremony.
A children's parade at the opening with handmade decorated wands and bubbles.
This Interfaith ceremony included shared poems, readings and the bride's Father explained some of the Jewish traditions .
After which guests shared the challah bread made by the bride's Mother in a receiving line and entered the " Hoop House" for a delicious dinner expertly coordinated by Royal Fig Catering.
There were toasts and dancing after dinner as well as sparklers for the kids.
Special gifts from both of the bride's Grandparents were a huge inspiration to her- from using the original cake topper from her Grandparents who've been married since 1940, to her deceased grandmother's vintage jewelry and typewriter.
Though there was no planned exit - we found that their friends had secretly decorated the grooms funky truck -already covered with foil for their ride home!
Cheers to Sarah & Charlie!
